I am a Professor of Computer Vision and Machine Learning at the University of Surrey. I lead the SketchX Lab, a research group dedicated to the intersection of computer vision, computer graphics, and cognitive science. Our vision is to understand how "seeing" can be explained by "drawing" -- exploring how sketch data can yield insights into the human visual system and enable intuitive AI-driven creativity.

Currently, I serve as a Co-Director of the Surrey Institute for People-Centred Artificial Intelligence (PAI), and as a Co-Director for the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in AI for Digital Media Inclusion. I also represent Surrey as the Academic Lead at The Alan Turing Institute, the UK's national institute for data science and AI.

I am an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI) and the International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV).
