Evolution of neutron skins and shell structure

Relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov calculations successfully predict the evolution of matter

and charge densities, and the changes in the spin-orbit interaction that cause SPE’s to change,

but the detailed predictions differ from non-relativistic Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations,

which in turn agree with shell model calculations. The HB and HFB include continuum coupling.

Monte-Carlo and large basis shell model calculations also predict evolution of effective SPE’s.
