Data storage

In both the Exogam system and the new GANIL system, the data are stored on digital linear tapes (DLT's), which are becoming standard in most nuclear physics laboratories. It will be necessary to invest in suitable tape drives for off-line analysis of the data back in the UK. In addition, the small test facility should be equipped with a tape drive and this can be used as a spare during experiments, or if an experiment is planned at a different location then the test system could be adapted and used to collect data on-line.
