Cleaning the vs80 drives:
Must use DLT VS or else DLT1 cleaning cartridges. Anything else will eject after 20 seconds without cleaning the drive. Proper cleaning takes a minimum of 90 seconds and during this time the CLEAN/MEDIA LED is lit. Remove tape when this lights goes off. This LED is lit automatically when cleaning is required, but VS80 drives need little cleaning.

Installation for vs80 drives:
The drive requires either a Wide, Ultra SCSI-2 LowVoltage differential or single ended SCSI bus. It will not work with standard differential or HighVoltage differential SCSI.
The drive will default to SCSI ID 5. Remember to reset it if this is not a free ID on the system.
